Blog

How's it goin'?

Project debriefs, professional updates, and the occasional brain dump. This blog covers whatever I do under the NYS banner, so that’s everything from web, design, and illustration through to music, art, and other personal projects. Lay on, Macduff.

  • It’s been two years since I released my first/only full length album, Ourofluoros, on September 6th, 2019. I’ve always wanted to do a deep dive on how it all came together, and I guess because of its anniversary I’ve been reflecting on it lately.

  • Hi all! It’s been four – wow, four, count ‘em – months since I started developing Straycloud.

  • Here we go! I’ve (finally) officially announced the start of development on Straycloud, a game I’ll be building. This post serves as a jumping-off point for a devlog of this process. To begin, here are some key points on the project.

  • My musical background is a mixed bag. Everyone in my family makes music to some degree, so it’s always been in my life. When I was younger, I played bass in bands with friends. This meant I had access to drums, guitars, and piano; and in high school I used to mess around with some basic music software, but I never felt serious about it.

  • I will do more to help.

  • This post is a bit late to the party, as this blog didn’t exist on April 17th when the single was released, but you can find it now at https://beast.noelyoungstudio.com or on Bandcamp.

  • Or, more appropriately, hello again, world! I’ve ported these sites over to Jekyll from a shambolic, years-old mess of a front-end toolchain.
